Class II laser pointers have a maximum power output of 1 mW. Class IIIA laser pointers have a maximum power output of 5 mW.

The human eye can see green color further than any other color in the spectrum. Therefore red laser pointers have a visible range of up to 1,500 feet in the dark. Green laser pointers have a visible range up to a mile in the dark. Even though both the Red and Green laser pointers have a maximum output of either 1 mW or 5 mW the Green laser pointers can be seen farther than Red laser pointers when using it indoors or outdoors.
